I'm an OTR truck driver and found this at a truck stop in NE last summer. Im pretty picky and was looking for another one to compare, but this was the only one. I'd been looking for a less bulky insulated gal jug with a wide mouth to keep ice on my truck. This seemed to fit what I was looking for. Bought it on a whim and haven't been disappointed. I was a solo driver at the time and would refill it every 2-3 days. Always had ice left at the bottom no matter how many times I opened it or left it in the sun. Now, I team drive with my hubby and he goes through ice like crazy! l cant imagine not having this with us since we use it daily. As truck drivers we don't want to stop everytime we need to fill our cup.
As an additional testament to its ability to keep cold. We've filled it and forgotten it in our truck and 3 days later of being in a hot vehicle, it still had ice. 3 maybe 4 days seems to be about the max I get out of a full jug of ice. Just to be clear, its versions of melted ice in water depending on how much is left in it and the surrounding conditions. Im not saying that I still hv a full jug of fresh unmelted ice 3-4 days later.
Anyways, so glad I made the impulsive decision to get it. Almost a year later, it hasn't let me/us down. To date, I have yet to see another or any other Big Frig items at a truck stop. Get it, you won't be disappointed!
